U of T Professors Talk Research at UHN…

Professors Rosemary Martino, Elizabeth Rochon and Yana Yunusova recently participated in an innovative panel discussion in honour of Speech and Hearing Month. The focus of the discussion was Research in Speech – Pathology at the University Health Network (UHN). The panel was made up of S-LPs from UHN – TGH, TWH, TRI and PMH. Education Partner, Louise Pothier moderated the event.

The discussions were lively with S-LPs from across all UHN institutions in attendance. Faculty and clinicians shared projects in the works, challenges faced in the collaborative research environment and ideas were fostered for future research opportunities.

Professor Martino shared her highlight of the day:

“It was a great panel. I enjoyed the spirit of collaboration and the opportunity to strengthen the message that excellence in research requires many players – those grounded in the clinical reality as well as those able to shape the research from developing the question, to designing the methodology and then orchestrating and ensuring a successful execution.  All of which is not a simple task but definitely achievable when we come together.”
