Aging of Speech Functions: From Behaviour to Brain Structure and Function
Presenter: Pascale Tremblay, PhD,  Associate Professor,  SLP Dept. University of Laval

Pascale Tremblay is an associate Professor in the Speech-language pathology program at Université Laval, where she is the director of the Speech and hearing Neuroscience Lab at the CERVO Brain Research Center, and the co-director of the CINQ, a research group that promotes and facilitates brain imaging research at Université Laval through diverse scientific activities. Dr. Tremblay has made significant contributions in the areas of speech production, speech perception and the “language connectome,” using multimodal brain imaging and non-invasive brain stimulation. She has also made significant contributions to understanding the impact of brain aging on speech processes.

Esther Kim, PhD, R.SLP, CCC-SLP is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Alberta. Her research focuses on understanding cognitive mechanisms of language impairments in aphasia, and the investigation of evidence-based treatments to remediate these disorders. In addition to her clinical and research interests in adult neurogenic communication disorders, she is co-founder of the Alberta Aphasia Camp, an annual retreat for people with aphasia and their families.
